Police search for man in rape, several assaults

SUNSET PARK - Police are looking for a man they say raped one woman and tried to sexually assault three others.

According to police, in the first three incidents the man grabbed the women from behind but fled when they resisted.

These attacks occurred on March 20 on 16th Street in Park Slope, on May 3 on Ridge Boulevard in Bay Ridge, and on May 29 on 55th Street in Sunset Park.

Early Saturday, again on 55th Street in Sunset Park, police say the man followed a 28-year-old woman into her apartment, forced her to the ground and raped her.

Officials say police have increased their street presence in the Sunset Park and Park Slope communities in response to the attacks.
