Police search for Park Slope robbery suspect

PARK SLOPE - Police are searching for the man responsible for an armed robbery at the Park Slope Smoke Shop last Wednesday.

Owner Mohammed Esa fought off the knife-wielding robber with a garbage can and closed the register before the suspect could get away with most of the money. Esa says the man escaped with about $10.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male about six feet tall and weighing approximately 205 pounds. They say he was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, black jeans and blue shoes when he fled in a green 2009 Ford vehicle.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
