Police search for suspect in 5 armed livery cab robberies in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - Police are looking for the man who they now believe is connected to five armed livery cab robberies in Brooklyn.

In the most recent holdup, authorities say the suspect demanded money and the cellphone of a 69-year-old driver at knifepoint, cutting the victim's finger in the process. It happened at Bedford Avenue and Empire Boulevard last Friday.

Investigators say that the other four incidents are similar, and include the suspect stealing the cab of a driver during a robbery in Canarsie last month. The vehicle has since been recovered.

The suspect is described as a 25-year-old black man, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and around 180 pounds. Cops are urging anyone with information to come forward.
