Police search for suspect in Coney Island shooting

BROOKLYN - Police say they are searching for the man responsible for shooting an innocent mother in Coney Island yesterday.

Witnesses say a masked gunman ran into the Seagate Deli on Neptune Avenue and opened fire on a man he had been chasing. However, he missed his target, shooting Amanda Santiago, 24, twice in the arm, while her 5-year-old daughter and 7-year-old nephew stood nearby.

The NYPD says it is reviewing surveillance video from the store. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
