Police search for suspects in alleged BK bias attack

WILLIAMSBURG - Police say they are searching for three suspects who committed a possible bias attack against a Jewish man in Williamsburg last week.

Officials say three men attacked Joel Weinberger, ripped up his Hasidic garb and took his cell phone as he was on his way home from services at the Beer Hatorah Yeshiva on Harrison Avenue. They say the men may have also said racial statements during the attack.

Officials say that Weinberger has since been released from the hospital.

The yeshiva is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information about the attack to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-8477.
