Police seek man who attacked, robbed elderly woman

BROOKLYN - Police are on the hunt for a man who attacked and robbed an elderly woman in Brooklyn on Wednesday.Investigators say a man followed an 88-year-old woman, punched her in the head and then ran off with her purse. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.This is the latest in a number of reported incidents in East New York where women were the targets of crime. Two weeks ago, someone stole a woman's iPhone as she left the L train at around midnight. She was not injured.Anyone with information on either case is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
