Police seek suspect in string of robberies

BROOKLYN - Police say they are searching for a suspect who robbed at least four elderly women at gunpoint this week.

According to authorities, the suspect mugged a 75-year-old woman in an elevator at 1114 New York Ave. Monday evening. Minutes later, he pistol-whipped a 57-year-old woman and stole her belongings in the lobby of the same building, police say.

The suspect is also accused of assaulting two other women Monday and Tuesday on East 48th Street and Church Avenue. He is described as a black man in his early 20s.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
