SHEEPSHEAD BAY - Police say they now believe the suspect in the fatal double stabbing in Sheepshead Bay has fled to Russia.

Investigators say that they believe that Nikolai Rakossi was involved in the stabbing deaths of Larisa Prikhodko and her mother, Tatyana, in an apartment on East 13th Street on Sunday.

The NYPD says it is working with overseas officials to continue the search for Rakossi.
