BROOKLYN - A man accused of stealing bricks from a construction site was hospitalized after police say he was struck by a patrol car.

Police say they received a 911 call yesterday about a man taking bricks from a site at the Bayview Houses in Canarsie.

When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect took off, but got hit by a police car. The man sustained injuries to his head and was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
