Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly hurling snowballs at a postal carrier in Flatlands, but similar snowball attacks have also been reported elsewhere

BROOKLYN - Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly hurling snowballs at a postal carrier in Flatlands, but similar snowball attacks have also been reported elsewhere in Brooklyn.

Business owners in Boerum Hill say a group of teenagers has been tormenting the community.

Wayne Miles says the teens wrecked his store using snowballs before he chased them out.

Residents say considering the amount of snow and ice still blanketing the streets, they are worried the attacks are not going to stop any time soon.

In response to these concerns, police in the 84th Precinct have stepped up patrols throughout the area.

"It's not fun and games all the time if somebody's getting hurt," says pedestrian Louise Brown.
