Police: Woman killed by stolen van

Police say a woman was struck and killed Monday by a stolen minivan in Greenpoint.The woman, 37-year-old Violetta Krzyak, was struck at about 2 p.m.

GREENPOINT - Police say a woman was struck and killed Monday by a stolen minivan in Greenpoint.

The woman, 37-year-old Violetta Krzyak, was struck at about 2 p.m. while crossing the intersection of Manhattan and India avenues, police say.

Police say the minivan's driver, Jose Maldonado, of Manhattan, faces numerous charges including vehicular manslaughter and grand larceny.
