Police: Woman shot, injured on Decatur Street in Bushwick

Police are trying to track down the suspect who shot and injured a woman on Decatur Street in Bushwick early this morning. (2/23/14)

BROOKLYN - Police are trying to track down the suspect who shot and injured a woman on Decatur Street in Bushwick early this morning.

Investigators say gunfire erupted at around 1 a.m. near 1384 Decatur St., by the corner of Irving Avenue. Police say the woman was struck once in the right side of her chest, and was rushed to Brookdale Hospital in serious condition, but is expected to be OK.

Isreal Hagan lives next door to where the shooting happened. He says his neighbors were having a small party that got out of control when a shot was fired accidentally.

Police say there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
