BROOKLYN - A woman was slashed in a Nostrand Avenue subway station Wednesday evening, according to police.

Police say the incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m.

News 12 is told a 51-year-old woman was slashed in the face and robbed of her cellphone on the northbound track.

The unidentified victim was taken to Kings County Hospital and is in stable condition.

Police describe the suspect as heavy-set, about 6 feet tall and in his 30s with facial hair. They say he was wearing a red sweatshirt at the time of the incident.
