Poll: Cuomo leads Paladino in NY governor race

ALBANY - (AP) - A new poll shows Democrat Andrew Cuomoleading Republican Carl Paladino by 56 percent to 32 percent amonglikely voters as the race for New York governor enters its finalmonth.

The Siena College poll of likely voters shows Cuomo's lead inNew York City is 70 percent to 17 percent. He has a 54 percent to35 percent lead in the city's suburbs and is leading 45 percent to43 percent upstate, where voters are considered most motivated andturnout is expected to be heavy.

The poll released yesterday is the first since Paladino got intoin a shouting match with a New York Post reporter. A video of thatencounter got attention nationwide.

Siena questioned 636 likely voters Sunday and Monday. The pollhas a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
