BROOKLYN - Some Poly Prep students joined a group of children with special needs to plant flowers as a belated Earth Day celebration.

The nonprofit group Community Mayors helped organize the event to help children with special needs experience the event.

Organizers say this is the first time they have done a gardening event, but they would like to keep it going in the future.
