Popular eatery Shake Shack coming to Brooklyn

BROOKLYN - The popular burger and fries eatery Shake Shack is opening a location in Brooklyn.

Borough President Marty Markowitz celebrated the news in front of Borough Hall Tuesday. The New York City-based burger franchise has stores in Manhattan, Upstate New York and Miami.

In order for Shake Shack to move in, a borough staple must go. Tony?s Famous Pizzeria will not be renewing its lease for the next year. The owner say the store will reopen on Fulton Street.

The Brooklyn Shake Shack is expected to open by next fall.
