Power is restored in Flatlands today after a transformer explosion left the neighborhood in the dark for part of the day Sunday.Con Ed officials say

FLATLANDS - Power is restored in Flatlands today after a transformer explosion left the neighborhood in the dark for part of the day Sunday.

Con Ed officials say the explosion, which was caused by blown power fuses, occurred near Avenue L and 37th Street.

According to Con Ed, more than 1,000 customers were affected by the outage.
