CONEY ISLAND - A Brooklyn woman living in a cold, dark apartment was carried down the stairs as she went into labor this evening.

Two EMTs took Jazlyn Martin down 12 flights of stairs at the O'Dwyer Houses in Coney Island. Martin's building has been without power, heat or hot water since Sandy hit, and family members say they've been getting by with candles and flashlights.

However, family members now say they're concerned about the baby's well being once returning from the hospital.
