Price of milk skyrockets across city

BROOKLYN - The price of milk has been on the rise across the city and now residents say they're worried it will get even harder to afford if the city's only milk processor goes out of business.

Elmhurst Dairy says it may be forced to shut down after Starbucks, its biggest client, decided to end its contract. With less locally produced dairy, the added fuel and transportation costs could get passed along to consumers.

Many Brooklyn bodega owners say that it's hard because they sell the milk at the same price they buy it for and may be forced to hike up their prices soon too.
