Priciest coffee in NYC, a $10 latte, sold at Greenpoint coffee shop Budin

GREENPOINT - A Scandinavian coffee shop in Greenpoint has set the record for the most expensive coffee in New York City, with a specialty latte that costs $10.

The coffee shop, Budin, opened on Friday. On its menu is the Lakkris latte, its name coming from the Icelandic word for licorice.

The drink's hefty price is due to its international ingredients. The coffee beans are from Ethiopia and are roasted in Norway, while the anise syrup and raw licorice powder are from Denmark.

Budin's owners say the Lakkris latte is really popular and that they had to reorder ingredients from Denmark already after running out in just a few days.
