BROOKLYN - Brooklyn residents were among the thousands of people in the state capital today fighting against fracking.

Protesters boarded buses in Downtown Brooklyn and headed to Albany where they begged Gov. Andrew Cuomo to ban fracking in New York.

Fracking is a controversial natural gas drilling method that involves extracting from shale deposits. Critics say the process can cause gas to seep into the ground, damaging food and water.

Those against drilling are in support of renewable energy, but fracking supporters argue that it creates jobs and boosts the economy.
