PARK SLOPE - A group made up of health care professionals rallied against a Park Slope hospital Monday over what they call a dangerous shortage of registered nurses.

Protesters say New York Methodist Hospital on Sixth Street and Seventh Avenue has a low ratio of nurses to patients, which they say could endanger some receiving medical care at the hospital.

Some hospitals in Brooklyn have been cutting staff as the economy has derailed. Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center announced Monday that it was laying off about 200 workers.
