NEW YORK - Dozens gathered on the steps of City Hall in Manhattan to urge drivers to slow down for pedestrian safety.

Family members of victims, local officials and members of the group Transportation Alternatives are asking the mayor and police commissioner to enforce stricter laws.

Protesters also urged drivers to slow down and pay attention.

Transportation Alternatives is also asking mayoral candidates to make pedestrian safety a priority.
