PTSD program held in Bay Ridge

BROOKLYN - A program that teaches veterans about post-traumatic stress disorder was held today in Bay Ridge.

About 25 servicemen and women met for lunch and attended a session that offered strategies on how to recognize PTSD and deal with it.

Organizers say suicides have become an epidemic among veterans returning from overseas and first responders to emergencies.

The awareness program was sponsored by philanthropist and real estate developer Anthony Lolli. He says that the borough should expect to see more of these types of programs for veterans in Brooklyn throughout the year.
