Public school registration gets under way

BROOKLYN - Another school year has begun as the Department of Education opened public school registration for students today.

The DOE set up several registration centers in the borough. Parents must bring their child's birth certificate or passport, as well as immunization records.

Parents are also asked to bring the latest report cards or transcripts for their children. Special education students are required to bring their individualized education programs.

Late-summer registration for new and re-entering students runs through Sept. 24.
