BROOKLYN - Another school year has begun as the Department of Education opened public school registration for students today.
The DOE set up several registration centers in the borough. Parents must bring their child's birth certificate or passport, as well as immunization records.
Parents are also asked to bring the latest report cards or transcripts for their children. Special education students are required to bring their individualized education programs.
Clara Barton is one of four Brooklyn schools that will be open for enrollment of new high school students or those re-entering the system.
While some parents say the registration process has been going smoothly, others complain of lack of organization.
Late-summer registration for new and re-entering students runs through Sept. 24.
