PROSPECT HEIGHTS - Parents in Prospect Heights are protesting the city's plan to add another school into a building that already houses two others.

Parents at P.S. 9 say a city plan to merge a charter school inside their children's already overcrowded building will make existing problems a lot worse.

Currently, P.S. 9 shares the building with a middle school.  Parents say as it is, their kids don't have enough access to the gym, cafeteria and library.

However, Deidrea Miller, of the Department of Education, argues that P.S. 9 is actually under-enrolled and that adding the charter school will create a high-quality option for families in the area.
