Rally held for elderly BK woman being evicted

BROOKLYN - A second rally was held today by community members to keep an elderly woman from being evicted from her Bedford-Stuyvesant home.

Police say 82-year-old Mary Lee Ward was the victim of a loan predator, now owing up to $200,000 on a loan against her home that she didn't take out, but is being charged for.

Making matters worse, the bank foreclosed on her home and another person purchased the home.

Ward's lawyer says the new owner won't evict her for now.

Her lawyer says they are working to have the New York State Attorney General's Office investigate the fraudulent sale and hopefully return the home to Ward.
