BROOKLYN - One of the entrances at Shore Road Park must now be avoided because of a ramp that is in need of urgent repairs.

The caved-in entrance ramp leads to the baseball fields at 97th Street and Shore Road. Parkgoers and nearby residents say they're furious about the cave-in and call it a major safety issue.

The city's Parks Department says the area will undergo reconstruction in the fall, but some residents say it's not soon enough. Park officials do say that work is currently being done on the project.

The entrance is blocked off for now.
