BEDFORD-STUYVESANT - A local rapper and some friends held a free end-of-summer concert Monday night at Herbert Von King Park for Brooklyn students as they get ready to return to class.

Rapper Hollywood Play has been sponsoring the Back-to-School Power Jam Concert for the past seven years. He says it's his way of giving back to the community in which he lives.

Hollywood Play, an unsigned artist, says he raises money for the concert by selling CDs on the streets and soliciting donations from charitable friends in the business.

Up-and-coming rappers and a DJ from the radio station Power 105 performed.
