BROOKLYN - Police arrested a 27-year-old man in the brutal killing of a Kensington business owner and father of two.

According to authorities, Rasel Siddiquee was taken into custody at JFK Airport Tuesday night as he was allegedly trying to flee the country to his native Bangladesh. He has since been charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Victim Mahuddin Mahmud, also from Bangladesh, was found nearly decapitated with a deep laceration to his neck in the basement of his store, People Tech, on McDonald Avenue. Relatives say $20,000 was discovered missing from his safe when they found him.

Siddiquee was seen being escorted out of the police precinct Wednesday where he said, "I guess so, yes," in response to reporters asking if he killed Mahmud.

Mahmud's family says Siddiquee moved to Brooklyn about five years ago and had been living in an apartment in the building's basement. They believe the two men got into a fight over some documents Siddiquee wanted to travel back to Bangladesh.

Mahmud's body will be taken back to Bangladesh Friday for his funeral.
