NEW YORK - Saturday marked Record Store Day, an annual celebration of independent record stores around the country and world.

Many stores in Brooklyn took part in the celebration by offering exclusive albums to their customers.

News 12 Brooklyn was at Academy Record Annex on Oak Street where collectors and passers-by spent time thumbing through boxes of music.

Record Store Day has been celebrated each year since 2007.
