Rep. Gentile fights for Hookah bar ban

BROOKLYN - Councilman Vincent Gentile (D-43rd District) says he wants to expand the city's Smoke Free Air Act to include hookah bars.

Gentile says the proposed bill would essentially shut down the existing hookah bars such as Hookah Hoopla in Bay Ridge.

The ban would also include non-tobacco items such as herbal cigarettes that are used through water pipes and hookahs.

Gentile says the ban would protect the health of New Yorkers.
