Rep. Weiner fighting scandal over lewd photo on Twitter

BROOKLYN - Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) is defending himself after a lewd photo was sent to a 21-year-old college student via the representative's Twitter account.

The photo allegedly showed a man's bulging underpants. It was sent to the woman and then quickly deleted.

Weiner has denied that he sent the photo, claiming it was a hacker. He has hired a private firm to investigate and a lawyer to advise him.

Some have questioned why Weiner did not go to the police after the incident, instead choosing to hire the private firm.
