BROOKLYN - Several city agencies say an elevator repairman was killed after plunging six stories down an elevator shaft this morning.

Officials say that the 47-year-old man was working at the Brooklyn Community Correctional Center on Myrtle Avenue at around 9:30 a.m.

Police, the city's Department of Buildings and the Office of Emergency Management were all on the scene to investigate, but say it appears to have been an accident.
