BROOKLYN - Digital cameras are reportedly playing a big role in domestic violence cases in Brooklyn and the rest of the city.A New York Times report says cameras have become a key tool for prosecutors. Officials say the cameras are able to pick up bruises a Polaroid camera or the human eye may miss. They also claim digital cameras capture smaller injuries and tiny defensive cuts on hands. The report says the photos can help speed up the judicial process. Prosecutors contend a suspect is more likely to accept a plea deal when faced with graphic pictures from a digital camera.Digital cameras were introduced in Queens in 2002 and reportedly led to a spike in convictions. Brooklyn began using the cameras last year and officials are hoping the results will mirror the results in Queens.
