Report: U.S. adds 163,000 jobs in July

BROOKLYN - The latest jobs report is out, but the news is mixed.

The U.S. economy added a better than expected 163,000 jobs in July after three months of sluggish hiring.

However, the unemployment rate still rose to 8.3 percent. About 12.8 million Americans are unemployed, 40 percent being out of work for at least six months.
