BROOKLYN - Rescue teams are making some headway in Haiti after Tuesday's devastating earthquake that affected about 3 million people in the nation's capital of Port-Au-Prince.

Some survivors of the earthquake reported being trapped for days under collapsed buildings. Rescue crews from all over the world are finally reaching Haiti, but it is often ordinary people that are pulling each other out of the rubble.

The Red Cross estimates the death toll at about 50,000.
