Rescued bulldog finds home at Bay Ridge firehouse

BAY RIDGE - A rescued dog has a new home in a Bay Ridge firehouse. Named Meatball, the bulldog was found two weeks ago on 3rd Avenue. Firefighters say he was wandering the streets near Engine 241 and Ladder 109, looking scared and possibly abused. The firefighters pooled nearly $400 to cover his veterinary bill. A superior officer at the firehouse says Meatball can stay as long as he is kept healthy and well maintained.
