Residents cast their vote in special election

BROOKLYN - Voters are casting their votes in the 44th City Council District special election Tuesday.

The election will fill the seat of former City Councilman Simcha Felder, who was recently appointed deputy city comptroller.

The 44th Council District covers parts of Borough Park, Bensonhurst and Midwood.

Voters will choose between three candidates; David Greenfield, Kenneth Rice and Joseph Lazar.

After a high turnout for a debate held in Borough Park last month, candidates are hoping this will also mean a high voter turnout Tuesday.
