CANARSIE - Homeowners on a block in Canarsie say there's a safety concern on the street.

A hole that's about 6-feet deep stretches several car lengths. Neighbors say crews were doing construction for the last two weeks then left it open Friday. It's been there collecting garbage since.

With a school and clinic nearby, they fear the worst may happen.

The Department of Transportation says National Grid is responsible for the hole. National Grid says it needs to check to see if the hole is in fact its responsibility.
