Residents encouraged to adopt a shelter animal this Saturday

BROOKLYN - Borough President Eric Adams touted the importance of adopting shelter animals Wednesday.

His speech came ahead of Adopt a Shelter Animal Day, which is Saturday.

Representatives from almost half a dozen animal organizations were there as Adams spoke about the impact shelter animals can make on a family.

An adoption drive will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the Marine Park's Avenue U parking lot.
