FLATBUSH - Last year it was named the "Greenest Block in Brooklyn," but some say it has now become one of the dirtiest.

Some neighbors claim that people from outside the area are dumping garbage on the street, while others say the wind is blowing the garbage over from Flatbush Avenue.

Six months ago, Vanderveer Place residents received the award from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. The block beat out 220 residential entries in the annual contest.

Residents say they are getting ready to make their block green again and win another contest.
