DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN - Many Brooklyn residents are seeing the much-debated Atlantic Yards project as an opportunity for work during the economic crisis.

"It's going to create a lot of jobs for a lot of Brooklyn people in the construction field," says David Henry, an electrician.

The latest projections from Atlantic Yards' developers say close to 17,000 construction jobs will be created with the project.

Those figures have been questioned by detractors, who have sought to delay or squash the project through numerous lawsuits.
