Residents locked out after fixing up property

BROOKLYN - ? Residents on Jefferson Avenue who fixed up a lot they called an eyesore have now been locked out by the property owner.

Residents say the empty lot at 381 Jefferson Ave. was rampant with drug use and illegal dumping for 15 years. Members of the block association say they reached out to the owner before turning the lot into a community vegetable garden. Two weeks ago, they found the lot locked up.

Residents say they are upset and are waiting to hear back from the landlord.
