BROOKLYN - Residents in Sheepshead Bay say cleanup of an abandoned lot is taking away beloved trees.

The lot is owned by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on East 15th Street and Avenue Z. Residents say the lot has been used as a dumping ground for years. However, some say while they are glad the lot is being cleaned up, the workers are also cutting down trees.

Residents say they want the surrounding trees to be left intact and the area cleaned up for use.
