BROOKLYN - Residents, local leaders and firefighters protested the possible closure of three fire companies in Bushwick yesterday.
Three fire companies that service the area slated to close are Engine 218, Engine 206 and Ladder 104. They serve Bushwick and Williamsburg.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg's proposed budget would close 20 fire companies through the city with eight of those in Brooklyn.
Bushwick residents say they fear for their safety, especially in light of a recent fire.
