BROOKLYN - Residents say they are concerned for their safety after a 13-year-old girl was struck and killed on Rockaway Parkway Monday.

Residents say the intersection is heavily traveled and drivers as well as pedestrians should be more cautious.

According to officials, Sarah Parris was hit trying to cross the street in front of the Canarsie High School for Medicine. She was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where EMS officials pronounced her dead.
