DITMAS PARK - Some Brooklyn residents took part in Parking Day in Ditmas Park this afternoon where they transformed local parking spots into a park full of grass and benches.

Neighbors on Cortelyou Road used the newly created area to relax and while they were preserving their energy, the innovative ?sun bike? was absorbing the sun's energy, creating solar power for the community to use.

The ?sun bike? is a portable power station that goes wherever it is needed.  Residents say sometimes they use it to power a stereo system and other times they use it to power tools to keep the park clean. Today, they used it to make fresh apple juice for community members.

Residents say the bike and the endless possibilities it can create has ignited a creative switch in the community.
