Residents wake before dawn for J'ouvert

BROOKLYN - It?s 4 a.m. and the J?ouvert procession has already begun in Brooklyn.

The large street party begins early in the morning and ends just before sunrise. The celebration is inseparable from the carnival and is celebrated on many Caribbean Islands.

The celebration involves calypso and soca bands with their followers dancing through the streets.
